I aspire to make it my life’s purpose to aid young musicians in their own pursuit and journey of a music career. The unexpected experience and influence I received from my professors at Oklahoma Baptist University helped me realize my passion to be a music educator and inspired me to further my own education to make that passion a profession. I desire to become a professor at a university so I can educate, care for, invest in, and encourage students who are going through the same feelings I once went through as an aspiring musician. My favorite part about learning, especially when it comes to singing, is the process and journey one goes through when they are preparing a song. The time before an artist presents their piece to an audience is special and motivating, and I yearn to be by a student’s side as they go through that process. I want to inspire students to have a consistent pursuit in their learning. Gaining knowledge is a never ending process and I want to teach my students how to pursue that endless experience while continuing my journey of learning. I want boundaries to be pushed, to learn to be innovative in my teaching and learning and to constantly be discovering new knowledge in the field of music and voice.
